TALLINN. April 20. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev suggested Estonian businessmen taking part in implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan.
"We are grateful to the Estonian support of our desire to increase trade with the European Union. On the basis of this we need to boost our trade and economic ties, which presently amount to USD 74 million. This is a very low figure. Moreover, we do not have mutual investments," N. Nazarbayev said at a press conference after his negotiations with Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves in Tallinn on Wednesday, April 20.
He emphasized that Kazakhstan was interested in using Estonian ports for handling various cargoes, including energy.
The President also proposed to Estonian businessmen to participate in infrastructure, industrial and medical projects under the Kazakh program on accelerated industrial innovative development.
