Nazarbayev receives Chairman of Kazakh Agency for Statistics

According to the agency's press service, at the meeting A. Smailov reported on the results of agency's work and prospects of further improvement of statistical methodology, and development of information systems.

The Chairman of the Agency for Statistics also informed of passage of the law "On state statistics" formalizing the norms and standards of the official statistics based on the UN recommendation and principles of e-Statistics integrated information system.

"Currently, average life expectancy of Kazakhstanis makes 69.6 years. This demonstrates dynamic development of the healthcare sector and effective state policy aimed at improvement of the quality of life," Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.

President Nazarbayev also paid attention to the fact that the national statistics system had improved and become more effective in line with the international practice.

The Kazakh Leader gave specific instructions on the integration of the agency's information system with the systems of other government bodies and introduction of the international standards into its activities.
