TANA. August 26. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev received Head of Metropolitan District in Kazakhstan, Metropolitan of Astana and Kazakhstan Alexander on Friday.
Metropolitan Alexander thanked the President for the attention to the Orthodox Church.
"The year 2011 is a special one for Kazakhstan. This is a year of the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence. Kazakhstan is a unique country where different ethnicities and confessions live
together in peace and concord, the ancient symbols of well-being," Alexander told a briefing.
This year Kazakhstan will host the fourth religious congress in Astana.
