Nazarbayev: New supra-national currency needed for more stable macroeconomic development

"The world has elaborated several scenarios of further development of global economy. However, there is no common picture of the world's development yet", the Kazakh President noted.

"The situation is worsened by ecological problems, climate change, the problems of inequality, food security etc", he added.

"In a new model of financial-economic architecture we should create such a system of regulation and control over the financial markets which will prevent defective distortion of the world currency, speculative flow of "air resources", crediting consumption of the developed countries by developing ones", N. Nazarbayev said.

The problems of crisis and anti-crisis measures were widely discussed at the recent economic forum in Astana. "To my mind, the OSCE must give more attention to development of economic-ecological dimension", said the President in this view.
