Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Astana at final stage of accession to International Baccalaureate Diploma Program

ASTANA. August 22. KAZINFORM The Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Astana entered the final stage of authorization in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, chairman of the board of the education institution Kulyash Shamshidinova said.

"The school enters the final stage of authorization in the upcoming school year which will complete in spring of 2013 by a visit of the representatives of the International Program," K.Shamshidinova said at the August pedagogical conference.

According to her, 25 educational programs on 11 disciplines based on the principles of the international baccalaureate diploma program were developed in cooperation with the teachers of the intellectual school.

As earlier reported, the Intellectual School of Astana was named a candidate of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in November 2011.

Besides, 60 seminars focused on 15 new educational programs for more than 400 teachers of the Intellectual Schools were held on the bases of the Intellectual Schools in 2012. "It is necessary to develop a strategy of teachers' support for the period of introduction of innovations. The center on support of education programs will launch an online platform to render assistance to teachers - specific forum for information exchange and feedback between teachers," the head of the School added.
