Nazarbayev instructs Gov't to study FIC proposals

ASTANA. May 22. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the Government to study the proposals of foreign investors submitted at the 25th plenary FIC session in Astana and make specific decisions.

"I would like to thank German Gref who has prepared the 10-year overview of Kazakhstan's development and all the participants who have praised our achievements and put forward specific proposals," N. Nazarbayev noted.

President Nazarbayev stressed that Kazakhstan's economy had more than doubled since establishment of the Foreign Investors' Council 14 years ago. In 2011 growth of Kazakhstan's GDP accounted for 7.5 per cent. The external trade turnover of Kazakhstan increased for 40 per cent and made USD 120 billion in 2011.

Nursultan Nazarbayev especially emphasized Kazakhstan's achievements in many respects drew upon the active role of its foreign partners. The Head of State thanked the members of the council for their contribution to the improvement of Kazakhstan's investment climate and economic development.
