Nazarbayev instructs Education Minister to introduce system of bachelor's and master's degrees

ASTANA. June 16. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has instructed Minister of Education and Science Bakytzhan Zhumagulov to introduce a new system of bachelor's and master's degrees in Kazakhstan next year; Kazinform refers to the presidential press service.
According to the President, Bolashak scholarship for basic training in a master's degree should be granted primarily in engineering and biomedical professions, natural sciences.
A new concept of Bolashak program should envisage that only experienced professionals with skills in practical work will get an opportunity to study at foreign universities, and only for doctoral studies and internships.
Nazarbayev also noted that it is necessary to send teachers from Kazakhstan's schools and universities to the educational centers abroad. "This will have a multiplicative effect for the development of the whole system of Kazakhstan's education," the President stressed.
He urged the Government to consider these issues and submit proposals.
