"As you have noted in this regard Kazakhstan has made a lot: closed the largest nuclear test site in Semipalatinsk, voluntarily renounced its nuclear arsenal, which included 1100 nuclear warheads. During these years, together with the United States and Russia we held a lot of work to eliminate nuclear test site infrastructure and nuclear facilities, which is very important for the people of Kazakhstan, who suffered from nuclear tests," Nursultan Nazarbayev said in his speech.

"With this we have reached a strategic partnership. The United States invested in Kazakhstan USD 20 billion of direct investment. In general, it is 80% of all investments in Central Asia. I think it is an example. I always say about it. I call upon all states seeking to have nuclear weapons, including Iran, to follow the example of Kazakhstan and get the benefit for their peoples," the Kazakh President said.
