ASTANA. January 23. KAZINFORM President Nazarbayev has strictly prohibited starting construction of new social facilities until analogous objects under construction will eventually be completed.
At the Government's meeting on Wednesday that was dedicated to results of the year 2012 and the implementation of the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy, the Kazakh President said over 100 billion tenge allotted for construction of the social facilities remained unused. Meanwhile, 189 schools and 68 healthcare institutions in Kazakhstan are in advanced state of disrepair.
"If the global crisis hits Kazakhstan hard, we will be forced to freeze the construction of new facilities. For this reason, it is so important to repair the buildings that are in critical condition and complete those under construction," the President stressed.
