NATO conducted over 7,700 sorties, including about 3,000 strike sorties in Libya

BRUSSELS. May 23. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Since the beginning of the NATO operation (March 31, 2011) a total of 7732 sorties, including 2975 strike sorties, have been conducted.
The NATO press service informed of it on Sunday, May 22.
On Saturday, May 21 147 sorties, including 49 strike sorties, were conducted, hitting one Naval Asset, one Tank, two Land-Based Air Defence Radars, two Command and Control Facilities and one Ammunition Storage Facility
A total of 21 ships under NATO command are actively patrolling the Central Mediterranean.
10 Vessels were hailed on May 21 to determine destination and cargo. No boardings (no diversions) were conducted. A total of 1002 vessels have been hailed. 47 boardings and 7 diversions have been conducted since the beginning of arms embargo operations.
