National Community Council on Fight against Corruption held session

The session took place in the format of the video-communication with the regions with participation of the heads of territorial departments of internal affairs. The issues of organization of activity on fight against corruption were discussed during the session.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Serik Baimaganbetov, Deputy of Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Oralbay Abdykarimov and other parliamentarians, first deputies of chairmen of Nur Otan Party affiliates participated in the session.

In his report S. Baimaganbetov noted that the 'fight against corruption in our departments' is one of the priorities for the bodies of internal affairs. A program on prevention of corruption till 2011 was accepted for this purpose.

"We critically evaluate our work as we see and know our own disadvantages and take all possible measures for its elimination", - the Minister said. In this regard he emphasized the issues of social protection of police officers. According to him the salary in police is significantly lower than in other law enforcement agencies.

"The issue of housing is still the calamity one. This is the cause for resignation of over five thousand police officers of the law enforcement agencies which took place every year", - he said.

As a whole the session participants noted that handling a problem of corruption in the law enforcement agencies can raise the efficiency of policing and crime control in the country.
