National Academic Library marks 10th anniversary on World Book Day

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The National Academic Library (NAL) of Kazakhstan it carrying out an open day themed "Ulttyk ugymga ulaskan Kitaphana", dedicated to its 10th anniversary as well as the International Day of Book and Copyright.
The official part of the event have been attended by guests of the institution including Senate deputy Zhabal Yergaliyev, Academician Garifolla Yesim, president of the Library Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roza Berdigaliyeva and other. As noted by the academician G.Yesim, when information technology reaches its peak, the value of reading printed books will be as big as before. According to R.Berdigaliyeva, Head of State instructed to establish the library focusing on the best international practices, in particular, the US Library of Congress. NOTE: National Academic Library serves more than 20,000 readers. Its fund exceeds 860,000 of printed and multimedia sources on various branches of knowledge in 52 languages.
