N.Nazarbayev's upcoming visit to Brussels should become breakthrough in Kazakhstan-EU relations

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantin Zhigalov has said it to journalists following results of the 10th session of the Cooperation Committee "Kazakhstan - European Union" on June 18.

According to him, those recent developments in the relations with the EU as signing the Agreement on cooperation with the European Investment Bank allow believe that the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs will appropriately prepare for a highly topical program of the forthcoming visit. "I hope this visit will be a breakthrough one between Kazakhstan and the EU", he emphasized.

As K.Zhigalov noted, over 1.5 years there were concluded treaties and agreements on strategic partnership with leading European countries - France, Italy and Spain. The similar agreement with Germany is under development.

Moreover, priority directions of our cooperation with the EU continue to be deepening a political dialog, development of trade, investment activity, transport-energy cooperation, interaction in the fiald of human rights and other spheres.
