N. Nazarbayev invites Ukrainians to study at New University of Astana

The President emphasized that Kazakhstan highly appraised scientific and educational potential of Ukraine. Currently Kazakh and Ukrainian higher education institutions are in the stage of multilateral cooperation. The partnership between the Eurasian National Gumilyov University and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with Ukrainian higher education institutions is a good example. Bilateral cooperation between the National Academies of Science of the two countries was established.

N. Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstan had one of its prior goals to form an intellectual nation. The amount of investments to the development of science will be increased to 25 times till 2012.

'The biggest project in this sphere we have now is the New University of Astana. I invite Ukrainian students to come to our country and study there. I believe that professors from Ukraine will also read lectures at the New University of Astana', the Head of the State added.

While talking to representatives of Ukrainian youth N. Nazarbayev noted that exactly young generation must continue the set work on cooperation between the two countries.

The same day N. Nazarbayev also met with representatives of business communities of Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
