N Korean leader says open to summit talks with S. Korea

BEIJING. KAZINFORM North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said Thursday "there is no reason not to be able to" hold a summit meeting with South Korea in a nationally televised New Year's address.
Kim called for easing tensions on the Korean Peninsula and expressed hope for having improved ties with South Korea, Kyodo reports. Kim said that he can no longer allow "the tragedy of national division."
