MPs efforts within TURKPA to enhance the role of Turkic-speaking countries in the world - N. Nigmatulin

This has been announced by Kazakh Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin and Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

Majilis Speaker of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin met with President of Turkey Abdullah Gul within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries (TURKPA) which is underway in Ankara, the press service of the lower chamber reports.

TURKPA was established in 2008 on the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are members of the organization.

During the meeting the Turkish President highly estimated Kazakhstan's success, especially emphasizing the relevance of Nursultan Nazarbayev's initiatives for the whole Turkic-speaking world.

The Kazakh Majilis Speaker stressed that TURKPA helps Turkic-speaking nations move to a brand new level of strategic partnership.

"Consolidated efforts of MPs within TURKPA will preserve the cultural heritage of the Turkic civilization as well as enhance the role of the Turkic-speaking countries in the modern world," N. Nigmatulin added.

This year the chairmanship of TURKPA will pass from Kyrgyzstan to Turkey.
