ALMATY OBLAST. July 17. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ Kazakhstan made an uneasy choice and as the OSCE presiding country it proposed to hold the OSCE Summit in Astana.
"Such summit has not been held for 11 years after Istanbul sitting. This top-level meeting will give a new impulse to adaptation of the OSCE to modern challenges and threats and will enhance the Organization's role in the architecture of European and Eurasian security", the Head of the State noted.
"As you know, the majority of the OSCE countries, especially the CIS states, support the idea of holding the meeting in 2010. Besides, my colleagues from Central Asian countries back this idea too", N. Nazarbayev stressed.
