Most of Kazakhstan put on storm alert
Storm alert has been issued for 15 regions of Kazakhstan for January 10, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazhydromet National Met Office.
Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, Karaganda, and Ulytau regions are to expect blizzard and black ice, and Mangistau region – black ice.
Blizzard is predicted in Abai, Akmola, and Aktobe regions, and ground blizzard in West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions.
Heavy snow is forecast for the west and north of Kostanay region in the daytime on January 10.
Wind is predicted in Zhetysu and Turkestan regions.
East Kazakhstan region is to see snow in the west, east, and south in the nighttime, precipitation in the daytime, as well as heavy precipitation as rain and snow and blizzard in the north and east.
The greater part of North Kazakhstan region is to expect snow, predicted to be heavy in the north and east in the daytime.
