Moscow to host CIS forum of creative intellectuals on 16 December

MOSCOW. KAZINFORM - Moscow will host the 9th CIS Forum of Creative and Academic Intellectuals on 16 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Intergovernmental Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation.

Partaking in the event will be more than 300 intellectuals from Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. The forum will discuss the development of CIS's common humanitarian space, the prospects of humanitarian cooperation, and the challenges of the time.

The participants of the plenary meetings and field-specific sessions will talk over different aspects of professional cooperation between people of art and journalists. They will discuss the role of young people in science and education, intercultural dialogue, preservation of the cultural heritage, and promotion of cultural and educational tourism, and the role of the mass media in strengthening the intercultural dialogue between the CIS member states. Special attention will be paid to the joint preparations for the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the organization of events to mark the Year of Veterans declared by the CIS for 2015.

The program of the forum also features the award ceremony of the winners of the youth competition Commonwealth of Debuts and the presentation of the 2015 CIS Capitals of Culture, the Russian city of Voronezh and the Tajik Kulob, BelTA reports.
