Moscow not interested in Syrian situation developing under Libyan scenario

MOSCOW. June 28. KAZINFORM Moscow does not want the situation in Syria to develop under the Libyan scenario, Russian president's African envoy Mikhail Margelov said on Tuesday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
"Russia is seriously concerned about the developments in Syria," Margelov, who is also chairman of international committee of the Federation Council, or upper house of national parliament, said commenting on the results of a meeting with a visiting delegation of Syrian human rights activists and politicians. Russia stands for the soonest transformation of the Syrian confrontation "into a political process, for putting an end to violence in that country," he noted. "We want reforms announced by the Syrian government be implemented in real life and the settlement process involve representatives from all political groups and confessions," he stressed; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
