Moscow marks 22 years of Kazakhstan's Independence

MOSCOW. December 5. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Embassy in Moscow organized a reception on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event brought together heads of government bodies, reps of diplomatic corps, international organizations accredited in Russia, businessmen and scientists as well as Kazakh diaspora.

In his opening remarks Ambassador Galym Orazbakov noted that Kazakhstan has established itself as a forward looking and sustainable state and a reliable partner in the international arena.

"Kazakhstan's success is due to the timely implementation of the State Program of Advanced Industrial and Innovative Development of the country," the Kazakh diplomat stressed. "President Nursultan Nazarbayev has mapped out the new long-term course for the republic - "Kazakhstan-2050" Development Strategy. In line with this document, Kazakhstan is supposed to join the world's 30 most developed countries by 2050."

The head of Kazakhstani diplomatic mission in Russia reminded that Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin signed the Treaty on Good Neighborliness and Alliance in the 21st century in Yekaterinburg this November. "Our countries enjoy good neighborliness and strategic partnership based on the solid foundation," Ambassador Orazbakov stated.

"Nowadays Kazakhstan has earned a remarkable standing in the world as the leader of global anti-nuclear movement, a country with its own unique model of inter-faith consent, a stable and dynamically developing state boasting of rich natural and human resources, as well as an attractive business partner committed to the principles of mutually profitable cooperation," he added.

Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin, in turn, noted that Kazakhstan and Russia are closely connected by their friendly relations and strong partnership.

"Over the past years Kazakhstan has achieved a tremendous success in its economic development, raised its profile on the international stage and acquired respect of the global community thanks to its well-balanced foreign policy," Mr. Karasin stressed.

The official part of the reception was followed by the screening of documentaries and video materials about Kazakhstan's development throughout the years of sovereignty.
