"Acting Moscow mayor Vladimir Resin has signed a decree approving the concept of providing Moscow residents with telecommunication services. The plan includes a proposal to create an Internet [television] channel," the source said.

News and information from the city's media resources would make up the online channel's content, he said.

Statistics shows that up to 60 percent of the Moscow residents have an Internet connection, with the figure expected to increase to 75 percent by 2020.

Some 75 percent of Moscow Internet users have broadband Internet access, which allows them to watch online television, Kazinform cites RIA novosti. See www.en.rian.ru
