More than 40 citizens of CIS evacuated from Syria
IL-76 aircraft which took off from the Syrian city of Latakia, has landed at Moscow's Domodedovo airport. There were 41 people onboard, said the representative of the National Center for Crisis Management under the Emergency Situations Ministry of Russia. Rescuers, psychologists and physicians of the Ministry provided the passengers with all necessary assistance. The Syrian Civil War, also known as the Syrian Uprising or the Syrian Revolution, is an ongoing armed conflict taking place in Syria. The unrest began in the early spring of 2011 within the context of Arab Spring protests, with nationwide protests against President Bashar al-Assad's government, whose forces responded with violent crackdowns. The conflict gradually morphed from popular protests to an armed rebellion after months of military sieges. According to human rights activists, 250,000 people have been killed over the three years of the confrontation.
