More than 30,000 doses of flu vaccine purchased in Almaty rgn

Almaty region Akimat annually allocates funds for immunization against influenza. As reported in the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Authority of Almaty region more than 30,000 doses of the vaccine named "Vacigripp" made ​​in France have been purchased for 2013-2014 season.

Since the beginning of October specific immunization of people in closed institutions including baby orphanages, children's homes, nursing homes, specialized boarding schools and the elderly over the age of 60 years, people suffering from chronic diseases, district medical workers and pregnant women (II and III trimester) has been carried out in the region.

Note that the Committee of the state sanitary and epidemiological supervision of the Health Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports, that an effective system of epidemiological flu and ARVI control has been introduced in Kazakhstan in order to determine circulation of infectious agents and timely detect new epidemiologically dangerous virus strains. In order to prevent carrying and further spread of high risk infections, including avian influenza, to the territory of the republic there are 36 sanitary stations functioning 24 hours a day at the border entry points of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
