Monument to famous Kazakh steppe horse Kulager opened on “Astana-Kokshetau” autobahn

ASTANA. June 7. KAZINFORM/Damir Baymanov/ A monument to well-known Kazakh steppe horse Kulager has been opened on "Astana-Kokshetau" autobahn. Its presentation was held on Sunday, June 6.

Kulager which had no equal in races once belonged to famous poet of XVIII century Akan-Seri. The horse became the pride of the whole Kazakh people. The length of the monument is 8 meters, the total height with pedestal is 11 meters. The author of the monument is famous architect from Shymkent Sultan Ilyayev. The copper statue was made in Kyrgyzstan.

"Why did we choose this place? Construction of the Kulager monument right here has clear advantages hence the tourist routes begin from Borovoye resort zone. On the way back the monument will greet and welcome visitors to the new capital of Kazakhstan - Astana", President of Kazakhstan Equestrian Sport National Federation, publicist S. Tugel said.

S. Tugel also stressed that in future the vast area around the monument would allow organizing various horse-racing events such as racing, alaman-baiga etc.
