?The republic has suffered from the world economic crisis ? a decline of export and import indexes in the country reached 24 to 25 percent in the first quarter of the year,? he said. ?However, the situation began visibly improving in April and May. Figures in industrial production, exports and currency incoming from republic?s citizens working abroad have considerably increased,? Dodon stressed. ?A demand for foreign currency significantly dropped in the banking system in May for the first time over the past six months, which made it possible for the National Bank to increase currency reserves by 100 million dollars,? he added, paying attention to the fact that speculative activity had stopped on the currency market; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
