Modernization of Taraz International Airport to require KZT 4.34 billion
The passenger terminal buidling, runway system, turn-off stripes, lighting facilities, video monitoring, and security checkpoint will be modernized, president of "Skat" Company S. Denisov told. According to him, attraction of "Transaero" and "Aerosvit" passenger and freight air companies allows to connect the west of Kazakhstan with Taraz and further with Aktau, Atyrau, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Pavlodar and Karaganda. Also it is planned to launch international flights to Moscow, Kiev, Istanbul, Urumqi and Dubai.
The second class "Aulie-Ata" Airport is able to receive medium-haul aircrafts and utility jets. At the same time, it maintains regular passenger flights only to Almaty and Astana.
Passenger traffic grew from 20.4 thousand to 29.5 thousand in 2011 as compared to 2010. In 2010, the company's loss totaled KZT 40.8 million. In 2011, the company's net profit was KZT 119 million.
