Minsk trade with Customs Union passes $1.4bn

MINSK. April 19. KAZINFORM In January-February this year Minsk foreign trade in goods with the Customs Union member states totaled $1431.2 million, including export - $473.6 million and import - $957.6 million. Export increased by 50.5% over the same months a year ago while import - by 37.9%, BelTA learnt from the Minsk main statistics department.

The Customs Union accounted for 28% of Minsk total export of goods and 36.5% of the total import.

The Belarusian capital exports tractors including truck tractors (4592 units worth $105.4 million), trucks (1053 vehicles worth $48.6 million), milk, condensed and dried cream (4035.4 tonnes worth $16.4 million), refrigerators, freezers and refrigeration equipment (53151 units worth $16.1 million), electric transformers (12894 units worth $15.1 million), conventional engines (4192 units worth $13.4 million), spare parts for trucks and tractors (2081.4 tonnes worth $10 million), road equipment (206 units worth $9.2 million), plastic containers (1216.5 tonnes worth $8.5 million), lingerie (1,423,100 units worth $8 million), trailers and semitrailers (628 units worth $7.8 million), wallpaper (2501.4 tonnes worth $7.7 million), Kazinform refers to BelTA.

Oil and oil products account for one third of Minsk import from the Customs Union (725,500 tonnes worth $327.5 million). Supplies of oil products rose 9.7 times as against January-February 2010. Supplies of oil fell 33.4%. The import also included ferrous metals (139,000 tonnes worth $118.8 million), conventional engines (2467 units worth $26.5 million), railway cars and trams (353 units worth $25.8 million).
