Minsk to host meeting of CSTO Foreign Ministers' Council - Kazakh MFA

ASTANA. May 30. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ A session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation is to be held in Minsk on May 31. A Kazakh delegation headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov will participate in it.

Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Askar Abdrakhmanov has announced it at a weekly briefing.

According to him, the matters on relevant problems and problems of the CSTO development are on the agenda. In particular, it is planned to discuss the issues connected with the CSTO cooperation with other international and regional organizations as well as activity of the CSTO coordination mechanisms. The program also includes a report on implementation of decisions taken by the CSTO heads of state during the December session in 2010. Moreover, the participants will discuss aspects of development of the situation in several regions, including the Middle East, North Africa and Afghanistan as well as possible steps on the part of the CSTO countries for prevention of threats arising in this connection.
