Minsk to host meeting of CIS representatives 17 July

The major issue will be the draft agenda of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government to be held in Yalta in September. The draft agenda includes 19 issues. First and foremost, this is a strategy of cooperation of the CIS member states in the development of the information society and a plan of action until 2015, a set of measures for 2012-2014 to implement the inter-state program of innovation cooperation, agreement on inter-state technical regulations, amendments to the agreement on rules of origin of goods. The humanitarian block of issues includes the cooperation of the CIS countries in the field of education, social welfare, exhibition activity. The plenipotentiary representatives will also discuss documents on cooperation between the states in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, air defense.

In addition, the CIS representatives will discuss proposals to the draft agendas of the Ministerial Council and the Council of Heads of State scheduled for 1-2 November this year in Ashkhabad. These meetings are expected to discuss preparations for the 70th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, cooperation in the humanitarian field, in ecology and environment protection, communication and information technology, the integrated foreign exchange market, security.
