Minister of Internal Affairs proposed Premier to head crime prevention committee

ANA. February 1. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Kazakh Minister of Internal Affairs Serik Baimaganbetov proposed Premier Karim Massimov to head the governmental committee on crime prevention; the Minister has informed of it today at the enlarged session of the Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"A governmental committee will be created for complex studying of numerous issues connected with crime liquidation as well as coordination and interaction of state bodies according to the Law. Taking into account the significance of its objectives and tasks, I ask you, Karim Kazhimkanovich, to head this committee", - S. Baimaganbetov said.

According to the Minister the Committee could solve the issues on crime prevention among under-aged and drug addicted as well as consider the issues on traffic safety.

"Now there are a lot of small committees which efficiency is not high at present. Herein, prophylaxis is still one of the weakest spots in our works", - he informed.

According to the Minister only this fact can explain that the number of crimes made in a state of alcoholic intoxication rose by 28%, with the use of fire weapon - by 23% whereas the significant part of grave crimes, including murders, is made in social sphere.
