Minister of Education Z. Tuimebayev: KZT 166 bln needed for e-education implementation

ASTANA. June 10. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Kazakhstan will need KZT 166 bln for implementation of e-education within five years. Minister of Education and Science Zhansseit Tuimebayev has said it today at the conference on discussion of the draft 2011-2020 Program on development of education.

E-education provides for automation of educational process, namely publication of e-magazines, sms-notification of parents, e-planning etc. The Ministry also plans to provide the schools with up-to-date equipment as well as to provide teachers and school students with access to the global educational systems.

According to the Minister, 28% of students in Kazakhstan have computers and 16% only have Internet access.
