Minister for Religious Affairs of Egypt: Kazakhstan shows the world how to live in peace and accord
- Mr. Muhammad Juma, could you tell us about the purpose of your visit to Kazakhstan? - The visit was made possible thanks to the friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Egypt. The leaders of our countries and peoples have always found understanding. I was able to meet with Mr. Yesimov, Mayor of Almaty, Minister of Education and Science Aslan Sarinzhipov, Minister of Culture and Sport Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Vice-Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament Askar Beysenbayev, Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Malgazhyuly. We have discussed issues concerning bilateral humanitarian cooperation. In particular, the development of the University of Islamic Culture "Nur-Mubarak", the training of specialists, and other matters which are an integral part of our relationship. For example, we have agreed on training of Kazakhstani religious scholars and theologians. The main help will be provided by the University "Al-Azhar" - one of the most respected institutions in the Islamic world. Scientists will come to Kazakhstan from Egypt. Kazakhstan, in turn, will send the imams for training. The Egyptian delegation will participate in the V Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held in Astana in June 10-11 of the next year. At the end of next week Kazakh delegation will travel to Egypt to participate in a religious forum. In April of 2015 Cairo will host an international conference which also invited the Kazakh delegation headed by the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan. - What can you say about the religious situation in Kazakhstan? - Head of your country has done and is doing a lot in order to make the people live in peace and accord. It is very important that there is mutual respect between people of different religions and ethnicities. Your leader follows very wise policy. Kazakhstan shows the world how to live in peace and accord. I think that many countries should study Kazakhstan's experience in this matter. - I would like to know your opinion about the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held in Astana. - The Congress, a dialogue between representatives of different religions, of course, is of high importance amid the situation in the world. Your President has made great efforts in this direction - This was your first visit to Kazakhstan. What impressions do you have country? - I am very impressed by your country. We have conducted informative meetings. We have to do everything for the sake of our people and the development of good relations between our states. I am very impressed by Astana - a modern city with an unusual architecture and friendly people. - Thank you for the interview!
