Military-political group discussed Kazakhstan’s OSCE presidency

ASTANA. August 4. KAZINFORM A regular meeting of a working group on Military-political aspects of Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship was held in the Ministry of Defense, the press-service of the Ministry informs.

The working group includes representatives of the Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, National Security Committee and Foreign Intelligence Service "Syrbar" who summed up the activities of military-political dimension of the reporting period and discussed the upcoming events.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Lieutenant General Bulat Sembinov opened the meeting with his welcome speech. The participants were informed on the results of the OSCE Conference on combating drug trafficking and training course on 'Vienna document 1999 of the Negotiations on Confidence and Security-Building Measures'.

In the nearest future the OSCE Conference on combating terrorism to be held within the OSCE military-political dimensions as well as the preparation for holding of the International Seminar of the OSCE on combating the illicit trafficking in small arms and light weapons in Central Asian region.
