MI-8 helicopter crashed while landing

ASTANA.  September 8. KAZINFORM  /Serik Sabekov/ 10 out of 13 militaries who were on board of the crashed helicopter in the South Kazakhstan oblast Tuesday have not been found yet. Deputy Director of the Frontier Service of the National Security Committee Amangeldy Abylkanov informed at a briefing today.

"We received information from our Uzbek colleagues on six gunmen who were going to cross state border illegally", Abylkanov said. Immediately there were taken measures on enhancing border control. MI-8 helicopter with "Orlan" intelligence-search brigade on board was sent to the area of Ugamsk Gorge. There were 13 militaries including crew members on board", he said.

At 10.30 a.m. communication with the helicopter was lost. At the same time information on fallen helicopter in the area of Ugamsk Gorge was received from the Ugamsk forest service.

At present frontier services together with the Emergencies Ministry and Defense Ministry are involved in search and rescue work.

Three militaries were hospitalized with different traumas. Two groups of military doctors of the Central Military Hospital of the National Security Committee arrived in Shymkent to render aid to the victims of the crash.

According to the latest data, the militaries found out a group of five people moving in the gorge. The crashed while landing. The reasons of the accidents are still unknown.
