Mexico, U.S., Canada to strengthen cooperation against A/H1N1 flu

MEXICO CITY.  October 6. KAZINFORM The governments of Mexico, the United States and Canada agreed on Monday to strengthen collaboration to prevent the spread of A/H1N1 influenza; Kazinform cites Xinhua.

The representatives of the three countries agreed on improving their coordination, as a definite step to find a solution to the pandemic, said a joint statement issued after a meeting held here.

"Dialogue and transparency are the path to respond to the health challenges produced by this virus, minimizing at the same time the negative impact of this disease on the security and prosperity of the three countries," the statement said.

The three-nation meeting focused on reviewing the efforts made by the three countries against this flu, it added.

Among those efforts were sharing the learnt lessons during the second quarter of 2009, and discussing the strategies to apply during the second wave of A/H1N1 flu outbreak, as well as other diseases.
