In a speech marking the International Day against the Improper Use and Illegal Trafficking of Drugs, Calderon said his government has made great efforts in combating drug trafficking.

The president called on all parents in the country to educate "our children and young people" about the dangers and prevent them from using and consuming drugs.

"Improper and excessive use of drugs ... leads to a dramatic and tragic death" even for people "who have everything," Calderon said.

"Fame and money at the end are not able to surpass the death, which is hidden behind addictions (to drugs)," he added, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview.cn for full version.
