Memorial to soldiers-internationalists opened in Karaganda region

KARAGANDA. August 30. KAZINFORM. /Valentina Yelizarova/ A memorial complex devoted to the 20th anniversary of withdrawal of the Soviet troops from Afghanistan has been opened today in Shakhtinsk, Karaganda region. The soldiers-internationalists living in Shakhtinsk were awarded badges.
Today Shakhtinsk celebrates its main holiday - the Miner's Day as well as the state holiday - the Constitution Day. The festive program started with the march of national cultural centers and enterprises of the region. Kazakhstan's pop stars will continue the program with a gala-concert. And fireworks will finish the holiday.
