Memo of Cooperation signed between Eurasian Economic Commission and International Organization for Migration
As the press service of the ECE informs the Memorandum is to establish business relations and increased cooperation in migration between the organizations. Establishing links with the Commission in the framework of IOM international cooperation ECE aims to improve the performance of the Commission's objectives and functions and have a positive impact on the further development of integration processes in the framework of the Common Economic Space.
The document provides for cooperation in order to create conditions for the effective management of migration processes that affect the functioning and development of the Unified Economic Space.
The memo defines the areas of cooperation between the parties, including the monitoring of the migration situation and practice of immigration law in the State of the Common Economic Space, as well as learning from international experience in managing migration.
Cooperation between the parties will be in the form of exchange of analytical and reference materials on migration, and joint activities, including expert advice on specific issues of concern migration, requiring elaboration of proposals for their resolution. In addition, representatives of the parties are expected to participate in international conferences and seminars, and other activities of mutual interest.
T.Suleimenov described the signing of the Memorandum as "a good start to a mutually beneficial and constructive dialogue with colleagues from the IOM, the organization that is a recognized authority in the world." He also noted that the integration processes in the space of the EEA require creating conditions for effective use of the labor potential of the States Parties, which is one of the most important factors of production.
