Member of German Bundestag visits Al-Farabi University

ALMATY. April 13. KAZINFORM /Dauren Zhailin/ Member of the Bundestag of Germany – Head of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary faction Manfred Grund has visited the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; Kazinform reports.
Within the framework of the visit M.Grund met with rector of the University Bakytzhan Zhumagulov.
As is known, the University has old ties with the German universities in the sphere of educational training and student exchange programs, foreign language teaching and etc.
According to B.Zhumagulov, owing to these ties for the last four years 14 students of the University studied at German universities and language courses, 38 Phd students conducted scientific-research work, 45 people from the teaching staff took part in international conferences and qualification courses.
The current visit of M.Grund will strengthen the ties of the leading educational center of the country with the German universities, and scientific and cultural cooperation of the two countries.
B.Zhumagulov informed the guest of the features of the state policy in the education sphere, innovation directions of the Kazakh higher education activity in the sphere of mathematics, informatics and nanotechnologies, and the University?s achievements.
