Meeting of NATO Defense Ministers opened in Krakow

BRUSSELS. February 19. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ A two-day informal meeting of the heads of Defense Ministries of NATO member states, where the Defense Ministers of Albania and Croatia will take part, has been opened today in Krakow (Poland), Kazinform refers to the press service of the organization.

The topical issues on the meeting's agenda are the NATO operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo, struggle against Somali pirates. Besides, the issues of further transformation of the Alliance, preparation for the NATO jubilee summit that will be held on April 3-4 in Strasbourg and Kehl was discussed as well.
Sessions of the commissions Ukraine-NATO and Georgia-NATO will be held in the second day of the summit.
