Meeting in Akorda: Kazakhstan, India to draft 'road map' for cooperation intensification
The issues of further development of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were discussed. The Indian Minister highly appraised the policy of the Kazakh President that resulted in rapid economic development. He expressed admiration for the pace of construction of the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.
S.M. Krishna noted that India and Kazakhstan had close friendly relations. "The Kazakh President's visit to India in January 2009 gave additional impulse to the development of relations between the two states. The political and economic contacts develop actively. We attach much significance to the enhancement of our cooperation. We are planning to prepare a 'road map' of further intensification of our cooperation in all spheres including economic and social sectors. Together we can promote stability in the region", the India's Foreign Minister said at a briefing after the meeting.
