Medvedev to talk to Tajik, Afghan, Pakistan heads in Dushanbe

MOSCOW. July 30. KAZINFORM Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday is departing for Tajikistan on a working visit, after which he will travel to Kyrgyzstan, Russian presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko said; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.

"On July 30-31, Medvedev will make a working visit to Tajikistan at the invitation of President Emomali Rakhmon to attend the official opening ceremony for Sangtuda HPP-1," presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko noted. The ceremony will be followed by the signing of the hydropower plant acceptance act and the presentation of Russian and Tajik state awards to its builders. Russian-Tajik top-level talks are scheduled, the aide said.

The leaders will examine the HPP and will also take part in a symbolical tree planting ceremony at the HPP's turbine room.

It is also planned that Medvedev and Rakhmon will inspect an optical-electronic station for the detection and identification of space objects and visit its command post; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
