Medical error kills Infant

ASTANA. KAZINFORM An infant died due to the fatal medical error in Almaty, the city prosecutor's office said.
As earlier reported, last February 22 the Bostandyk district prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case over improper medical treatment that led to premature death of an infant. The investigation revealed that medical error caused asphyxia severe enough to result in death of the newborn baby. The investigation carried out had also established the guilt of health workers. The obstetrics and gynecologist doctor admitted her guilt and repented. August this year, criminal charges were dropped due to conciliation of the parties.
