MAZ to supply 100 buses to Kazakhstan
"We have been supplying the company with truck transport for ten years already and deliver there passenger transportation vehicles for three years in a row. Last year we supplied the country with 150 buses," said MAZ Deputy Director General for Foreign Economic Ties Vitaly Goncharik.
MAZ monthly sells nearly 200 units of its automotive equipment overseas. The company's major markets include Russia, Ukraine, non-CIS countries. The company has been actively working on expanding cooperation with the EU countries. MAZ delivers its buses to the Baltic states and Poland.
The demand for buses has been constantly increasing, Vitaly Goncharik said. Some ten years ago the company annually produced about 1,000 buses. Today MAZ makes 2,500 buses per year.
KazResursprom is an official dealer of OAO MAZ, OAO Amkodor, Amkodor-Pinsk, Mtsensk Engineering Plant Kommash in Kazakhstan. The company also cooperates with such companies as Minsk Tractor Works, Dormash and Spetstekhnika-GAZ Group, BelTA reports.
Minsk Automobile Plant was founded in 1944. In 2009 it was reincorporated into the public joint-stock company OAO MAZ. In 2012 OAO MAZ became the management company of the holding company BelavtoMAZ. The company makes truck tractors, high-sided trucks, medium-capacity automobiles, dump trucks, log trucks, short log trucks, cross-country vehicles, automobiles fit for special equipment as well as buses and trolleybuses. MAZ offers over 500 models and modifications of freight vehicles and about 20 models of passenger vehicles.
