Mayor of Astana city, Head of Alstom Company signed Memo on coop

According to Mayor of Astana city Imangali Tasmagambetov rail transport is necessary for the capital.

"The Head of the State has repeatedly raised the question before the Government and Akimat to speed up the construction of this type of transport. Last years there was the view that tram transport in Astana can be realized by foreign investments on concessional basis. But the global economic crisis has brought some correctives into the project implementation. Therefore the variant of the state loan with attraction of the leading French company is under consideration", - the Mayor said.

The Memorandum was signed by Mayor of Astana city Imangali Tasmagambetov and Head of the French Company Patrick Kron.

Alstom Company is a well-known company specializing on construction of municipal transport infrastructure, the Mayor of Astana city said.

"Therefore we think that cooperation with the French Company is profitable enough for Kazakhstan", - he said.
