Massimov holds sitting on healthcare

ASTANA. May 31. KAZINFORM Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has chaired a national sitting on the issues of healthcare with participation of deputy governors of oblasts who are responsible for the social sphere, heads of regional healthcare departments, representatives of the state and private medical establishments and public healthcare associations; the Premier's press service reports.

The sitting participants considered the draft Program of Healthcare Development for 2011-2015 elaborated by the Ministry of Healthcare.

This state program is developed as one of the key directions of implementation of the Strategic Development Plan of Kazakhstan till 2020.

According to Minister of Healthcare Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev, its main goal is improvement of Kazakhstanis' health and formation of the competitive system of healthcare for ensuring sustainable socio-demographic development of the country. it is suggested that about KZT 550 bln will be allocated from the national budget for this program realization.

As Prime Minister Karim Massimov noted, such program adoption is a great step forward, it has many advantages, but it should be linked to plans of development of the systems of educational and social ensuring. " it is possible to achieve results in people's health improvement only through putting together these three dimensions", K.Massimov said.

The Premier urged the Ministry of Healthcare to complete the draft Program of Healthcare Development for 2011-2015 by the next month.
