Masquat to continue supporting initiatives and efforts of Astana

ASTANA. December 31. KAZINFORM "Masquat will continue supporting the initiatives and efforts of Astana in provision of regional and international security, development of interconfessional and interreligious dialogue", Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sultanate of Oman Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah said at the meeting with Kazakh Ambassador Lama Sharif Wednesday in Masquat.

As the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported, the Kazakh Ambassador handed over the Minister an address of Kazakh Secretary of State - Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev.

The address says that the negotiations between the Kazakh President and the Sultan of Oman held in 2008 witnessed the great potential for extension of interaction at the bilateral and multilateral levels, promotion joint projects and establishment of cultural contacts existing between the states.

The Kazakh Ambassador informed on the most important foreign and national events in Kazakhstan, its achievements in socio-economic development and promotion of political reforms on the eve of the OSCE chairmanship in 2010 and the OIC chairmanship in 2011. he also informed that the Kazakh Embassy will be opened in Masquat in 2010 in accordance with the Decree of the President.
