Masdar ready to support Kazakhstan's bid to host EXPO-2017

TANA. October 12. KAZINFORM Within the European Future Energy Forum (EFEF), which is being held in Geneva, Switzerland, a Kazakh delegation has met with Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Masdar Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.

Kazakhstan at the EFEF is represented by Chairman of the Trade Committee of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Aidar Kazybayev and Director of the Electricity and Coal Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies Zhakyp Bokembayev.

Following results of the meeting Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber expressed readiness to support Kazakhstan in promotion of the application of our country to host the international exhibition EXPO-2017.

"We are confident that Kazakhstan will show its best to the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE), and in 2017 all world leaders of the energy field will gather in Astana for discussion of the urgent issues and search foe new solutions. We wish you success and a victory. Masdar will take part in a scientific congress on the energy of the future, which is planned to be held in Astana in 2012. We are ready to share our experience in creation of alternative energy sources," Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said.

"Kazakhstan and the UAE are friendly countries, we have a lot in common. Our country hopes for long-term cooperation in the field of clean technologies creation, in particular, we are interested in development of using solar energy. Thanks Masdar for support of our state," Aidar Kazybayev said.
