Manufacturing sector contributes 12.1% to Kazakhstan's GDP

TANA. August 22. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Kazakhstan's gross domestic product for the first half of 2011 grew by 7.1% as compared to the last year and amounted to KZT 10.1 trillion or USD 69 billion. Kazakh Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev made it public at the Government's sitting on Monday.
The manufacturing sector contributes 12.1% to the country's GDP, while in 2009 it was only 10.9%. Kazakhstan's machine building and chemical industries also see growth and make up 28% and 17.6% of GDP correspondingly.
